Quick update


Hi, it’s time for a quick update on “The Envoy”! While I was busy with life for the past months, development did pick up some speed in the last weeks. Here are some news about my progress:

  • I started getting into pixel art to give the game a more unified look (the tiles where mostly just scaled-down and edited photos) and color palette. It’s far from perfect but looks a lot more clean and distinct (at least I hope).
  • I moved partially away from mouse controls: the game now uses a cursor that selects nearby objects in front of you and shows a tooltip. Picking up and interacting with selected objects is now easily possible via key/button.
  • I’m currently working on a multiple-choice dialogue system based on inkle’s Ink narrative scripting language via the inkgd plugin for Godot. Check out the linked to see the first draft in action!
  • a number of other little changes and fixes
